Getting Started

How do I try on a nail style?

Open the app and tap Choose from Library or Take a Photo. Select a color, finish, shape, and length using the pickers at the bottom, then tap Apply Style. The AI will paint your nails and show you the result in a few seconds.

What kind of photo works best?

• Hand flat, palm facing down
• Fingers spread naturally — not bunched together
• Good natural or soft indoor lighting
• Nails clearly visible and in focus
• Avoid very dark backgrounds or extreme shadows

Is Cutie Nails free?

Yes — Cutie Nails is free to download and includes 5 try-ons so you can experience the full feature set. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited daily try-ons, including all designer nail art.

Try-On & AI

The app says it couldn't detect a hand. What do I do?

This usually means the photo doesn't have a clearly visible hand. Try these steps:

• Make sure your full hand is visible — not cropped at the edges
• Improve lighting — dark or backlit photos confuse the AI
• Avoid wearing gloves or nail wraps in the photo
• Try a different angle — straight-on from slightly above works best

The color I see in the result looks different from what I selected. Why?

The AI adjusts the color to match your skin tone and the lighting in your photo, so the result looks photorealistic rather than a flat digital overlay. The finish (glossy, matte, etc.) also affects how the color appears. This is intentional — it's what the color will actually look like on your nails.

How do AI Suggestions work?

When you upload a photo, Cutie Nails analyzes your skin tone and the colors in your photo using on-device image processing (no image is sent to a server for this step). It then recommends colors, finishes, and shapes that complement your complexion and applies an initial suggestion automatically — free, without using one of your try-ons.

What nail shapes are available?

Natural, Square, Almond, Oval, and Stiletto. You can also choose Short, Medium, or Long length for each shape.

Designer Designs

What are Designer Designs?

Designer Designs are nail art looks curated and published by professional nail artists and brands through the Cutie Nails platform. You can browse them in the Designs tab and try any of them on your own hand instantly.

Can I try a designer look for free?

Browsing the Designs tab is free. Trying a designer look on your hand requires a Pro subscription.

Saving & Sharing

How do I save a look?

After applying a style, tap the Save button. You'll need to be signed in to save looks. Saved looks appear in your Profile tab.

Can I share a look with my nail technician?

Yes. From any saved look, use iOS's standard share sheet to send the image via Messages, WhatsApp, email, or any other app. Your nail tech can see exactly what you want recreated.

Account & Subscription

How do I sign in or create an account?

Cutie Nails supports Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, and email/password. Tap the Profile tab and follow the prompts.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone and cancel from there. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

Open the app, go to the Profile tab, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.

How do I delete my account?

To request account and data deletion, email us at victor@miramarlabs.xyz with the subject line "Delete my account." We will process your request within 30 days.

Technical Issues

The app is slow or crashing. What should I try?

• Force-close and reopen the app
• Check that you're on iOS 17 or later (Settings → General → About)
• Make sure you have a stable internet connection — the try-on AI runs on our servers
• Restart your iPhone
• Delete and reinstall the app (your saved looks are stored in the cloud and will sync back)

What iPhones does Cutie Nails support?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. No special hardware is required.
