Welcome to Cutie Nails ("we," "us," or "our"). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our iOS app and website (collectively, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Cutie Nails, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information — When you sign up with email, Apple Sign In, or Google Sign In, we collect your name (if provided), email address, and a unique user identifier.
- Profile preferences — Skin tone, favorite nail styles, and saved looks you choose to store.
- Photos — If you choose to save or share a try-on photo, the image is uploaded to our secure cloud storage. We do not retain camera frames during your live try-on session; processing happens on-device.
Information collected automatically:
- Device information — Device model, iOS version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage data — Features used, styles browsed, session duration, and interactions with the app. Collected via Firebase Analytics.
- Crash reports — Stack traces and diagnostic data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.
- Camera — Accessed only during live try-on sessions. Camera frames are processed entirely on-device using ARKit and the Vision framework. We do not stream, record, or transmit live camera data to our servers.
Payment information:
All purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Purchase status (free or Pro) is relayed to us by Apple and Superwall.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Cutie Nails Service
- To personalize nail style and color suggestions based on your preferences and skin tone
- To process and manage your account and subscription
- To display your saved looks and history
- To send service-related communications (e.g., account updates, security alerts)
- To analyze usage trends and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your camera data for any purpose other than rendering the live nail try-on overlay on your device.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, storage, and analytics; and Superwall for paywall management. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements.
- Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cutie Nails, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent — For any other sharing, we will ask for your explicit consent first.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
Anonymized, aggregated usage data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
- Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Cutie Nails is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you via the app or email for material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
